In the time of the turtle king, an artist lived in a hole, drawing and painting weird and wonderful things. However, the turtle king disliked the paintings this artist sent to his palace. The king said they were too weird and didn't look how they were meant to. But the artist said that she could only paint like that because that's how she saw the world. The turtle king got angry and stole all the artist's paint, brushes and canvases. The artist was sad that she couldn't paint anymore. And after many years, she lost her talent of painting. BUT. One day, a boy came along, whistling down the road and came across this hole. The artist gained inspiration from this boy and started painting again. However, this time the paintings were really realistic! She then painted for the turtle king again and sent it to the king. The painting was off fire, a pot and a cook. When the turtle king got this painting, he liked it so much he touched it, but the painting came to life and turtle king got cooked. The chef made turtle jelly...and this is how gwai ling gou came to be!
